Return, Damage & Quality Claim Policy

ALL SALES FINAL POLICY

Due to the nature of alcoholic beverages, all sales are final. My Cousins’ Wine does not accept returns of wine once it has been delivered, picked up, or otherwise accepted by the customer, except as outlined below.

INSPECTION & ACCEPTANCE REQUIREMENT

All customers (including wholesale accounts, retailers, and direct purchasers) are required to inspect all products immediately upon delivery, pickup, or transfer of possession.

Acceptance of the product constitutes acknowledgment that the order was received in good condition and in compliance with the order, unless a claim is made in accordance with this policy.

DAMAGE, SHORTAGE, OR DEFECT CLAIMS

Any claim for:

Damaged bottles or packaging
Missing items or shortages
Incorrect products
Visible defects

Must be reported at the time of delivery or pickup, or within 24 hours of acceptance.

Claims must include:

Written notification (email preferred)
Photographic evidence of the issue
Original order or invoice reference

Failure to report within this timeframe constitutes full acceptance of the product as delivered.

QUALITY-RELATED CLAIMS

Claims related to perceived product quality (including but not limited to cork taint, oxidation, or other defects) must be reported within 24 hours of opening the bottle and no later than 7 days from delivery.

My Cousins’ Wine reserves the right to request:

Return of the product for inspection
Retention of the bottle and contents for verification
Additional documentation

No quality claims will be considered without the ability to reasonably verify the issue.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

My Cousins’ Wine is not responsible for damage, spoilage, or quality degradation resulting from:

Improper storage conditions (including temperature fluctuations, heat exposure, freezing, or light exposure)
Delayed opening or extended storage after delivery
Mishandling after transfer of possession
Third-party shipping or transportation not arranged directly by My Cousins’ Wine
Natural variation inherent in small-batch or minimally processed wines

Once the product has been accepted, all responsibility for proper handling and storage transfers to the customer.

REMEDY

If a claim is approved at the sole discretion of My Cousins’ Wine, the remedy will be limited to one of the following:

Replacement of the product (if available)
Store credit
Refund of the original purchase price

My Cousins’ Wine reserves the right to determine the appropriate remedy in each case.

NO GUARANTEE OF AGING OR CELLARING PERFORMANCE

Wine is a natural product and may evolve over time. My Cousins’ Wine makes no guarantee regarding aging potential or future performance after purchase.

CHARGEBACK & DISPUTE POLICY

By purchasing from My Cousins’ Wine, the customer agrees to comply with this policy prior to initiating any chargeback or payment dispute.

Failure to follow the claims process outlined above may result in denial of the claim and supporting documentation being provided to financial institutions to dispute chargebacks.
